House meeting · August 6, 2026
Welcome home.
Goal: get everyone on the same page about the move and start talking through options.
Nothing has to be decided tonight.
Who's here — tap your name
The page remembers — your notes and questions get signed with it.
Before we start
I'd like to record tonight so nothing anyone agrees to gets lost. If something shouldn't be kept, say so — it won't be.
The big picture
Whose house is this?
This is not our house. It belongs to Gama's trust — everyone living here is a tenant and steward of it. So we treat this as a real rental arrangement.
Everyone moving in is a renter — nothing more expected of them than of any renter.
"We want the arrangement to help everyone move toward where they want to be — not just be a place to land."
6-month rental agreements — for flexibility and adaptability.
$400/month rent each, plus utilities (~$200/month).
Talk through: what that looks like for each of us — goals and timelines.
The finer what-ifs (if someone can't keep up, how things get revisited) can live in the written agreement rather than get hashed out tonight. Suggestions welcome.
Logistics
What's happening to the house.
Carpet demo and new floors are going in. Still getting quotes and deciding material — timing has to fit around move-in.
Dumpster comes next week — carpet, broken things around the house and yard.
Stella & Mike are packing now and move to the basement mid-September. Nothing stays upstairs unless it's explicitly agreed.
Dates
Sept 22 — we leave. It's the official handoff.
Oct 1 — upstairs is officially available. Please don't rush us out. 🙂
Who's handling what
The chain.
Property manager · from Oct 1
Mom (Hailey)
Main point of contact. Final say on big decisions. Name on the utilities.
Day to day
Natti
Keeps things on track. Utilities submitted to Mom, the running repair list, yard updates.
The house itself
Margo & Jordyn
House and yard clean and in good condition. Report needs and repairs to Natti and Mom.
How the house runs
A closed loop: everyone puts into the house, and the house gives back. Day to day runs through Natti; Mom holds final say on the big stuff.
Money
Affordable, not free.
The goal is to keep it affordable — but this isn't a free house.
what it costs to keep the house running as-is
$400 rent each — we want rent low, but it's needed.
Everyone pays utilities (~$200/month each).
Alternatives can be discussed — but they need to be supported.
Worth knowing
The lease that comes out of this is being written for you. What you put into the house isn't money that just disappears — exactly how is the follow-up conversation.
House expectations
Living here.
A few minutes on how we want the place to feel — everyone gets a say.
5 minutes on this, then we move onReporting repairs — they go to Natti.
talk it throughShared spaces: cleaning, guests, the general house vibe. What do we want?
talk it throughHow we all keep in touch and raise things.
talk it throughThe written agreement
It gets written down.
Something gets written up after tonight, based on this conversation.
It'll be a formal lease, and it needs to be signed.
The what-ifs you raise tonight go in it — that's where they live. Keep them coming.
Anything else
Open floor.
The ask: hand over every question you've got — big, small, awkward. They all get answers.
Parked tonight
Let's run through these out loud before we break — then they get processed.
What happens next: a follow-up conversation firms all of this up — that's where the written agreement gets presented and talked through. Nothing gets signed cold.
Your notes
Everything you've jotted tonight — notes from every page, plus your parked questions — bundled into one little file to text to Mike.

One more thing
Later tonight there'll be a link in the group chat — a page for the house with everything from tonight on it, organized, including what's still open. If anything on it is wrong, tell me and it changes.
